Lesson 5:  In this lesson, we focus on the long “u” sound as the Brave Little Costumer learns to be true to himself.

The Brave Little Costumer - Chapter 5:  Each Play In A Book title is a five chapter story with a corresponding five act play.  Each chapter/act focuses on a short vowel sound.  Located in the reader, each act of the five act play is leveled to meet students as young readers.  Level one is easy to memorize and contains a rhyming component.  Level two is at grade level, and level three provides a challenge when needed.  Working with scripts presents the perfect opportunity to engage in repeated readings, a critical step in building oral reading fluency.
